Lovely morning knocking on residents’ doors in Haydon Hill.
I’ve already been picking up issues that people have raised in the area. I’m pushing Thames Water on the continuing smells from the treatment plant. I’ve written to Buckinghamshire Council again this week about the potholes and the road safety issues on the A41. So it was great to chat this through and also hear other things on people’s minds, from the cost of living to the work we’re doing to improve the NHS.
As ever, thanks to the Aylesbury Labour Party for coming along. ... See MoreSee Less

Really glad to be out talking to residents this morning with the Aylesbury Labour Party team.
All these conversations shape the issues I push in Westminster. As ever, a lot of important points were raised to me including funding to fix potholes, the lack of NHS dentists and the need to double down on getting the economy growing- so much else flows from that.
Thanks to everyone who took time to talk! ... See MoreSee Less

Our MP Laura Kyrke-Smith for Aylesbury is supporting common sense, socially conscious solutions in response to the difficulties around commercial fireworks. Pet-owners across Aylesbury, and the wider country would especially welcome changes to this issue.
In Laura's own words
"I want to thank constituents like Patricia Walker who wrote to me about the upsetting effects of fireworks on their pets. In a Westminster Hall debate this evening, I supported solutions such as common-sense decibel limits on commercial fireworks, which will allow users to celebrate responsibly whilst protecting their neighbourhoods' furry inhabitants. 🚨 A betrayal of voters 🚨
A councillor elected as Reform has defected to the Conservatives — handing them control of Buckinghamshire Council without a single vote being cast.
No mandate. No permission. No accountability.
Voters made their choice in May 2025. Changing party to seize control of the council is a slap in the face to local democracy.
If this decision really has public support, there’s only one honest option: resign and face a by-election.
Aylesbury Labour will not stay silent while democracy is undermined. ... See MoreSee Less
