March has been Endometriosis Action Month, but we cannot let our advocacy stop here.
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women, and yet it’s still really poorly understood and the average time to receive a diagnosis is *9 years*. I’ve heard from several constituents about a lack of clinical understanding and debilitating pain they’ve experienced.
There is much that the Government can do to improve support. I am pushing to see endometriosis included in the upcoming women’s health strategy. I was also pleased to hear the Prime Minister commit this week to improving training for doctors, cutting wait times for gynaecology services and investing in research on diagnosis and treatment.
